The Haiku Parrots

From whom I learned...

I'm well into parrots: I'm a member of the Parrot Society UK; and, for 24
years previously, from my student days well before my son was born, and for
most of my adult life, I shared my home with a parrot (Harpo -- the original
psittcone chip and mite processor) who was a wonderfully entertaining, tender
and assertive character who demanded passion fruit for breakfast, who had
the run of the house but insisted on spending nights in his cage, and, from
whom I learned a very great deal. Further, my family have kept parrots for
generations -- I have photos of a great grandfather's parrot, a great-great
aunt's parrot, a great aunt's (the painter Vera Cuningham) parrots, and so on.... I have
oil and watercolour paintings, books and all sorts, on parrots.

Beyond their stunning beauty, parrots do demonstrate that the bird brain itself is
an extraordinary thing not at all deserving of derision!!

The Huelo landowners certainly had their wits about them.

Enough of all this.
